Project Staff


Marjan Rossen is the Project Manager of DIVERCITIES and is also Managing Director of the Department of Physical Geography at Utrecht University. She holds an MA in Social and Economic History (1980), she has a first grade teaching certificate in Economics and a PhD in the Humanities. She was Assistant Professor at the Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen and at the Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam where she conducted research on social housing policies in the Netherlands. She has managed several large projects including Dutch culture in a European context (the first interdisciplinary project in Social Sciences and Humanities funded by the NWO (€5.000.000; 1991-1998); the research project The Multicultural Society (Project Manager Ad Interim, 1997); and the FP6 program INTAMAP.


David Wills is the Communications Advisor of DIVERCITIES. He holds a Phd (2010) and a Bachelor of Arts – Honours (2003) from the Australian National University, Canberra. David’s previous roles include: lecturing at the University of Newcastle, Sydney College of the Arts, National Art School and the Australian National University; producing websites and editing blogs; staging large-scale exhibitions internationally; and writing for a range of publications. He is the recipient of project and research grants, residencies and scholarships.
